WELCOME TO LA CHATEAU LEARNING CENTRE 2025 - No fuss/no frills
La Chateau Learning Centre was started in 2011 on the Bateleur College campus.
It provided a Home School option for siblings of Bateleur College from Grades 4 to 10 and was a registered Brainline Tutor Centre offering the Brainline distance learning curriculum until 2017.
Since 2017, La Chateau Learning Centre has provided the Bateleur College CAPS curriculum supplied and presented by Bateleur College for Grades 4 through 9.
La Chateau Learning Centre provides quality CAPS curriculum content, a June and December report with tests/exams prepared, invigilated and marked by Bateleur College educators and contact teaching by Bateleur College educators.
Parents remain responsible for their children's education and are required to complete a contract accepting responsibility for attendance, provision of Life Skills and Life Orientation curriculum content, homework and remediation.
Assessments/exams will be written in June and November and a La Chateau Learning Center report will be issued. This report will be accepted by Bateleur College and other Home School/Learning Centres and curriculum providers for enrolment subject to availability and application requirements.
Learners will report to the Learning Centre every morning and will be escorted to the Bateleur College campus where they will attend class with Bateleur College learners from 07h30 until 13h30.
Enrolment will be limited to 5 learners per grade for Grades 4 to 7 (subject to space in Bateleur College classes).
In the future, as the Learning Centre becomes more established the classes will be held in our own building and taught by facilitators using our established Bateleur College curriculum for Grades 4 through 7. The exams will be invigilated and marked by Bateleur College educators.
We will also be expanding to Grades 8 in 2026 and progressing a grade a year to Matric. (using the Bateleur College curriculum).
LA CHATEAU LEARNING CENTRE 2025 HIGHLIGHTS
2025 Fees - payable monthly in advance x 12 months
Grades 4 to 6 R 2650-00 per month x 12 months
Grade 7 R 2900-00 per month x 12 months
All fees are payable in advance before the first of each calendar month. No fees/no service.
No fuss -
* there will be a basic uniform (the Bateleur College sports uniform)
* no enrolment fees
* no event levies
* shorter school days (07h30 to 13h30)
* Enrolment will be limited to 5 learners per grade for Grades 4 to 7 (subject to space in Bateleur College classes).
* The school day will end at 13h30.
* A one month notice period.
* Parents will be responsible for attendance, homework and remediation.
* Parents purchase textbooks and stationery as per lists supplied
No frills -
You only pay for what you need. There will be;
* NO sports
* NO physical education
* NO creative arts
* NO assembly
* NO camps
* NO cultural activities
* NO events
* NO after care
* NO holiday care
* NO extra mural activities
* NO remedial assistance
* No Life Skills/Life Orientation. It will be the parents responsibility to provide this curriculum content.
